As New Year approaches, many of us are still trying to figure out how to spend our New Years Eve, as well as what we can expect from the holidays.
While the NHL continues to offer some great deals on New Year Day, the NHL Players Association is working to ensure the New Years’ Eve celebrations are inclusive.
“The Players Association will continue to work on a new system to ensure that everyone who is invited to celebrate New Years Day has the same opportunity to enjoy the game,” a spokesperson for the NHLPA told theScore.com.
The new system is designed to ensure everyone, from the fans to players to owners, has equal access to the festivities.
Players can still purchase a New Years drink on New Years day, but instead of purchasing one ticket to the game, they can purchase a $25 voucher that will allow them to pick up a complimentary beverage from the NHLStore.com and receive $25 in New Years night savings.
As of December 4, the New York Islanders have purchased a voucher to buy one of four New Years beers at the team store, but no more than six tickets to the team’s home opener against the Anaheim Ducks will be available for purchase on that night.
On New Year Eve, the Tampa Bay Lightning will no longer be selling $30 off-ice tickets to select games.
Instead, the Lightning will be offering a $10 discount to fans who attend their home opener versus the New Jersey Devils on December 5 at 7 p.m.
ET.
In a press release, the NBA has announced that it will offer a free ticket for every New Year home game.
The NBA will be providing tickets to fans to purchase at the box office starting at 10 a.m., and fans will be able to pick them up for $5.
Tickets will go on sale at 10:01 a.c.
ET on Friday, December 1.
