Trump tweets on Thursday that he won�t travel to China after a two-day trip to Asia, and instead plans to stay at Mar-a-Lago, his Florida resort.
The president, who was scheduled to visit the United Kingdom for the first time on Saturday, tweeted the news shortly after 8 a.m.
He also tweeted that he would make a formal announcement in the coming days regarding his plans for the trip.
Trump said that he will be attending the opening of a new chapter of his administration.
‘I�m going to be at Mar, in Palm Beach, Florida, on Saturday.
I�ll be there for two days, with a lot of people,’ Trump said, referring to the opening ceremony.
I will be in the U.S.A. for the opening day of my administration.
The United States of America is a great place to visit and be a part of a great country.

In an Instagram post, he wrote: �This trip is my first.
It will not be my last.�He added that he hopes to make a trip to the United States during the next week or so.
On Wednesday, Trump made headlines when he tweeted that the United Nations had �a total disaster on its hands.� He said in the tweet that he had just spoken with U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
The president is scheduled to hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, as well as with Chinese President Xi Jinping, during the trip, according to a senior administration official.
In his remarks on Thursday, Trump noted that he is the only one in the world who can be confident in his national security team.
He said the United Nation was working very hard on a new report that he hoped to see out very soon.
The official did not give any specific details on the report.

Instead, Trump said he will focus on what he said was his most important priority: winning the presidency, the official said.
While he said he has no intention of using the nuclear codes, Trump also said that if he had to choose, he would prefer to use his power to defend the United State and the world.
”I want to be able to say I’m a leader, and I’m going to protect the country and the people and the United Sates interests,” he said.
He added: ”That’s what I want to do.
That�s what I have always wanted to do.”

During a White House briefing on Thursday afternoon, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said the administration has not made any final decisions on travel, including a decision on Trump�s trip to China.
Sanders said that the president had asked his team to work out the details of a trip and a final decision.
However, she did not elaborate.
This is not a decision that is going to happen tomorrow, Sanders said.
This is not going to go down tomorrow.
We want to make sure that the country understands that we want to stay engaged with them, she said.
Trump said in his tweets that he planned to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping during the two-week trip.
The president said he had spoken with Xi and had assured him that he wanted to make the trip a success, the White House official said, adding that the two leaders had agreed that the trip should be successful.
